AI-powered text rewriting anywhere on macOS

Setup

Enable Accessibility
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and enable TypeRewrite. This allows the app to read and replace selected text.
Add your AI API Key
Open TypeRewrite preferences and add your API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, or other supported providers) to enable AI-powered rewriting.

How it works

Select any text, trigger TypeRewrite with your shortcut, and a floating editor appears. Describe how you want to rewrite the text — fix grammar, change tone, translate, or anything else — and the AI rewrites it instantly. Press enter to replace the original text.
